This is home. Tomorrow, Africa.
Talking about leaving for South Africa has seemed like a distant and almost impossible reality for the past six months. Until now. Sitting at my kitchen table, sharing fresh oysters on the half shell and fresh sockeye, drinking wine and receiving sporadic visits from friends coming to wish me well, the hard reality of this venture is starting to sink in. Tomorrow morning I will be departing for a land that is just about the farthest I can go while still standing on dry land. And so, it is with great excitement and curiosity that I embark upon my four-month journey to the Western Cape of South Africa. I'll try to keep the updates coming.
